The applications for the JA Global Alumni Conference are open until March 15th 2019. Please note that if you apply for the conference you won’t automatically have a conference spot. Your national coordinator (NC) has to approve your participation. Please contact your respective NC for more details here.

Participation fee

The participation fee covers entrance to all venues of the main conference agenda, accommodation in the hotel from Wednesday to Sunday, food and travel expenses during the official parts of the agenda. Travel expenses and food / drinks during the unofficial parts or extra events are not included in the participation fee.

The participation fee is as follows:

  • JA Alumni - €185

  • JA Staff members, guests - €500

Please note that the prices include accommodation in 2 or 3 bed rooms. An additional fee is required for single room booking. Please see → accommodation

Approval of your participation

Applications will become a registration after your local national coordinator (NC) confirms your application (April 1st 2019). After the confirmation we will send you the invoice for your registration and will have two weeks to pay. If the invoice is not paid, we consider it as a cancellation, and you will lose your spot.


The invoice needs to be paid within 2 weeks. Unpaid invoices will be considered as cancellation, and you will lose your ticket (meaning your conference spot). You are no longer entitles to participate at the JA Global Alumni Conference.


A cancellation free of charge is only possible until April 1st, 2019. After your spot got confirmed the full fee needs to be paid within two weeks.

From the April 1st, the cancellations will be closed (exceptions can be made in case of emergencies).

By plane - Vienna International Airport

Vienna International Airport (German: Flughafen Wien-Schwechat; IATA: VIE, ICAO: LOWW) is the international airport of Vienna, the capital of Austria, located inSchwechat, 18 km (11 mi) southeast of central Vienna.

By train

The train is a comfortable way to travel to Vienna. The products of ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) and the Westbahn are aimed at individual travel needs. Tickets here:

By car and bus

You’ll have a safe journey to Vienna by car and bus on Austria’s excellent network of motorways, expressways and federal highways. As tolls are compulsory on all motorways and expressways in Austria, you will also need a vignette to use Vienna's city motorways. All the participants are accommodated in Austria Trend Hotel Messe Wien. They stay from August 28th - September 1st is included in the conference price. All the participants will have twin room. In case you want a single room an extra fee will be required. Furthermore single rooms will not be on the conference site / the JAVillage. More details will follow right here as the registration process proceeds.

Pocket money

This is everyone´s personal decision, but we recommend you to take approximately 150 – 200€ in cash with you. Please note that not all restaurants and shops accept credit cards.

Each participant will be approved by the respective regional operation center (ROC).If you have any questions regarding the confirmation process please contact your respective ROC:

Austria is a member of the Schengen area, meaning that travelers coming from other Schengen countries do not need an additional visa to enter Austria. Nationals of the EU, EEA, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, in addition to further countries, do not need a visa to visit Austria. Please consult the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for a full list and details.
