Conference app

Accommodation

All the participants are accommodated in Austria Trend Hotel Messe Wien. The stay from August the 28th until September the 1st in a shared double room is included in the conference price.

In case you prefer a single room an extra fee will be required. Furthermore single rooms will not be on the conference site / the JA Village. If you would like to stay in a single room and have not had the chance to state this choice so far, please do not hesitate to contact us straight away. Single rooms and additional nights will be booked and payed directly via the hotel Austria Trend Hotel Messe Wien.

Please find below the prices for additional nights and single rooms:

  • Additional night single room: €130

  • Additional night double room: €70

  • Single room during the conference days (additional costs to the participation fee): €240


Approval of your participation

Your digital invoice as well as participation email from info@jaglobalalumniconference.org serve as a validation of your participation at the conference. If you have not received a confirmation email from JA Village News yet, please do not hesitate to contact us right away. If you have not paid your deposit and your invoice has been declined, you can unfortunately not participate at #JAAC19.


Payment

The participation fee covers the entrance to all venues of the main conference agenda, accommodation in the hotel from Wednesday to Sunday, food and travel expenses during the official parts of the agenda. Travel expenses and food / drinks during the unofficial parts or extra events are not included in the participation fee.

The participation fees are listed below:

  • JA Alumni - €185

  • JA Alumni Honoris - €280

  • JA Staff members, guests - €500


Please note that the prices include accommodation in 2 or 3 bed rooms. An additional fee is required for single room booking. Please review → accommodation

The invoice needs to be paid within 2 weeks. Unpaid invoices will be considered as cancellation, and you will hence loose your ticket (meaning your conference spot). You are then unfortunately no longer entitled to participate at the JA Global Alumni Conference.


Cancellation

A cancellation free of charge is only possible until April the 1st, 2019. After your spot got confirmed the full fee has to be paid within two weeks. If you cannot participate at #JAAC19 but have paid for your ticket, you can pass it on to another alumni of your network - in this case please contact your National Coordinator or JA office.

Exceptions can be made in case of emergencies.

Vienna's central position in Europe makes it a hub offering optimal transportation connections to the whole world. 195 destinations across 70 countries are regularly served from Vienna by 74 airlines.

By plane - Vienna International Airport

Vienna International Airport (German: Flughafen Wien-Schwechat; IATA: VIE, ICAO: LOWW) is the international airport of Vienna, the capital of Austria, located in Schwechat, 18 km (11 mi) southeast of central Vienna.

By train

The train is a comfortable way to travel to Vienna. The products of ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) and the Westbahn aim to fulfill all individual travel needs. Tickets can be purchased here: https://www.oebb.at/en/

By car and bus

You’ll have a safe journey to Vienna by car and bus on Austria’s excellent network of motorways, expressways and federal highways. As tolls are compulsory on all motorways and expressways in Austria, you will also need a vignette to use Vienna's city motorways. You can find detailed information on the toll charges here (http://www.asfinag.at/maut). The route planner will help you find your optimal way to Vienna.


Pocket money

Even though it is everyones’ personal decision, we recommend you to take approximately 150 – 200€ in cash with you. Please note that not all restaurants and shops accept credit cards.


Approval of application

Each participant will be approved by the respective regional operation center (ROC). If you have any questions regarding the confirmation process please feel free to contact your respective ROC:

Austria is a member of the Schengen area, meaning that travelers coming from other Schengen countries do not need an additional visa to enter Austria. National residents of the EU, EEA, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and other additional countries, do not need a visa to visit Austria. Please consult the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for a full list and details.
